A Bit Of Background History:
The first Scarecrow festival took place in Liverton Village August 2015. It was all new to us but we had a village full of bedazzled scarecrows and amused visitors. Through enthusiasm, determination, tenacity and powers of persuasion we awakened keen interest from local businesses and other nearby villages. We ran regular scarecrow workshops and shared not only ideas but moments of sheer hilarity and fun.
We have put East Cleveland firmly on the map for summer visitors boosting the local economy.
The Scarecrow festival is a catalyst for bringing people and communities together, whether through being involved in the planning, the creation or the pure pleasure of following the trail. We feel we have reignited the spirit of community that lies within us all, and sometimes we just need a human tornado to get it moving.
